The government has decided to tighten the measures today. Internal border controls between Finland and the Schengen countries will be reinstated. The same restrictions will apply to all travelers arriving from abroad to Finland. The following document is required when crossing the border: 

 

  • Proof of full vaccination certificate against Covid-19 

  • Proof of recovery from Covid-19 within the last six months 

  • A certificate of a negative Covid-19 test taken less than 48 hours before arrival


Until 31 December 2021, this requirement will apply to those born in 2005 or earlier, and as of 1 January 2022, to those born in 2006 or earlier. The new measures will take effect from 28 December 2021 and remain in force until 16 January 2022.
