To respond to the fifth wave of the pandemic, the Polish government has introduced the following measures:

Free tests for COVID-19: COVID-19 tests will be free of charge in the pharmacies for all residents without a doctor’s referral as of 27 January 2022. The National Health Fund will cover the cost of the tests.

The quarantine time will be shortened to 7 days: Asymptomatic individuals will be released from quarantine after seven days, provided they test negative for COVID-19.

COVID-19 patients over 60 years old will be examined within 48 hours after the diagnosis.

Hospital beds and personal protective equipment will be vastly increased.
Medical transport facilities will be increased.
