Visa requirement

Swisscare Studentpass International comply for obtention of student visa in the Netherlands.

Non EU/EEA students – private insurance is required.

If you study in the Netherland and not have a part-time job, you are required to purchase a private insurance. We recommend purchasing the comfort plan. The Netherlands has a high standard of medical facilities and medical care system.

EU/EEA Students

EU/EEA and Swiss students must present their European health insurance card (EHIC) or its replacement certificate to prove eligibility for the Netherlands health care. The EHIC can be requested by the social security in the country of your nationality.

Please note that EHIC is not an alternative to travel insurance. It does not cover any travel protection, search and rescue, repatriation to the home country, emergency dental treatments, assistance… Studentpass plans will be a very affordable solution to have a full protection while you are studying in EU/EEA Countries.

Medical cover

Studentpass international covers mainly acute sickness and injury during your stay abroad. This means that for all unforeseen sickness or injuries, you can consult a general practitioner, specialist or visit a public hospital. For minor emergencies, we suggest to visit a general practitioner first. You will avoid long time waiting delays in an hospital emergency reception.

All benefits are limited in insurance sum. Please see our table comparison here under. Note that dental treatments like all other insurance covers are limited to an emergency that require immediate intervention of a dentiste. Routine dentist check, filling, krone, tooth replacement or cleaning are not covered.

Medicine is covered if prescribed by a recognized practitioner. Note the covered medicine must be in the standards of the western countries.

Get round the hours medical assistance

Studentpass international propose a complete travel protection that includes assistance 24/7. Search and rescue, repatriation to the home country or repatriation of mortal remain, luggage, ambulance transport, medical advice …

The assistance line 24 / 7 also provide advice in case of sickness and injury and deliver the GOP (Guarantee of payment) for hospital admission.

Think community

Once you are insured through one of the Swisscare products, you are paying an insurance premium for an event of which most certainly hope it will never occur. The premium you pay will fall into a community fund (insurance).

The majority of the members of this community contribute like you for few who are in needs while they are sick or have an accident.

You participate like all members of the community into this fund with a financial contribution because there is a risk that one day you are also in needs and suffer from an illness or an accident for which the cost of treatments would be impossible to bear on your own. In that case you will then profit from the fund (insurance) of the others members which will pay for you.

Translated documents in EN / DE / FR

Swisscare members are spread worldwide. More than 7500 languages are currently existing. This is why Swisscare like the majority of international insurance providers or insurers ask their member to submit invoices in English ( Swisscare inTrust claim service accept also German or French). If your invoices are in a different language kindly translate the most important details and submit this translation along with the invoices. (Legal translation is not required).
